CONCEPT
Nam June Paik’s Center for Self-Discovery is an opportunity to know oneself through communion with God. A visitor enters a dark room where all they see is an old television and several cameras pointed directly at them. The television displays both the visitor and an image of God. An artificial intelligence, «AI Buddha 2.0, ” has been created for this dialogue. Thanks to this development, the visitor can ask „God“ any questions related to morality, ethical choices, or religion. Because of the impression of a live conversation, the visitor feels secure, allowing them to speak about any topics that concern them without reservation. After the session, the visitor receives a video recording where they can see and hear themselves, observe their reactions, and refresh their memory of the conversation with God. This experience allows the visitor to know themselves more deeply. The concept of the self-discovery center is inspired by Nam June Paik’s series of works, „TV Buddha.“
