Project Concept
The city sets an intense rhythm and forces you to adapt to it. The drive to keep up inevitably leads me to a state of anxiety and unease. Therefore, I seek ways to reclaim a measured pace. One way I’ve found is by observing birds in the nearest pond. Engaged in their own lives, they operate on their own cycles, and watching them allows me to break free from the whirlwind of my own thoughts.

Affection forms from the sense of calm I find with them. But our relationship is one-sided: they notice me, but they distance themselves and do not seek closeness. Therefore, in this series of works, I am not addressing the Other, but rather my own image of them.
I assemble birds from scraps of suede, cotton, and mesh; I do not finish the edges or hide the seams. The species are still recognizable, but the image does not coalesce into a pedantic likeness. If I pushed it to absolute precision, I would have a portrait of a bird—but what is available to me is not the bird itself, but only what remains from the encounter with it.

Technical Implementation
The installation presents an image of a pond, constructed from the same materials used for the birds themselves. On a circular pedestal draped in a fabric resembling water, several textile birds are sparsely placed in the center. They are grouped away from the edge, allowing the viewer to walk around the pedestal and observe the birds from above, as if viewing from the shore.

Podium — a circular platform with a diameter of 280 cm and a height of approximately 80 cm. Its top surface is constructed from plywood decking cut into four equal quarters. The entire support structure is concealed beneath fabric. Each bird is mounted on a weighted base that is hidden under the fabric.

The project requires the ability to view it from all sides. It needs a free space of at least approximately 5×5 meters.
