Title: Grandma’s curtains Author: Ivan Egorov Year of creation: 2023 Technologies and materials: porcelain, painting with overglaze paints Сirculation: 1 piece Price: 140 000 rubles
This artwork was created as part of the «Antifragility» art-residence at Sysert porcelain factory. It was the first time during the residence that I had seen clean, untouched porcelain, not overloaded with painting. I was fascinated by the beautiful and pure forms that we usually do not see or perceive. I wanted to create a light and airy pattern that would highlight the shape. The result was «Grandma’s Curtains» — a recognizable image, translucent fabric with a pattern on the window from somewhere in childhood. The geometric principle that I developed allows to generate different patterns, so the painting on seeminly identical cups is different.
