Brutalist studio for pet braces installation

Braces are not an adornment; they are pressure—a thin wire shifting living bone over months. The studio does not hide this force within a cute pet shop; it exhibits it, like in a gallery. Veterinary orthodontics exists in reality, but it sounds absurd. This gap is where the project resides: human obsession with the perfect smile extends to animals. It is both care and control.

The studio is organized like an anatomical theater, which accounts for the central form. This is a direct reference to 16th-century theaters in Padua and Leiden, where bones were displayed as exhibits. The height and void at the center transform the procedure into a ritual, and the ordinary tooth and wire into an artifact. Downstairs, the ROOM cabins are carved into the steps—this is the work and correction. Up top, the loungers and warm light represent restoration. This creates a path from tension to tranquility.

Braces are inherently a structural element, and pastel visuals would be a falsehood about the process. The rigid casing emphasizes the softness within—the skin, the fur, the warm light. Furthermore, the brand approaches the dog as a predator with real fangs, not as a toy. This leads to the tone: ALIGN THE BEAST, «Even for those who bite.»
This was a statement about how the culture of correction has reached our fellow creatures. The project leaves the question of where the line is drawn between care and the attempt to dominate nature.
