Concept
The project is dedicated to modeling and visualizing the Bialetti Moka Express stovetop espresso maker from Bialetti—a recognized icon of 20th-century design. The goal of this work is to research the design of the Bialetti stovetop espresso maker and convey the engineering aesthetics of Italian design through a precise 3D model and renderings.

The History of Moka Express
1919: Alfonso Bialetti opens a workshop in Italy. Idea: The principle of the «lisciveuse» washing machine—steam pressure mechanics.
1933: Patent for the Moka Express, the first stovetop espresso maker. Context: The Great Depression. Espresso ceases to be a luxury and becomes accessible at home.

Review and Competitor Analysis
Main Difficulties and Triggers:
[01] Difficulty cleaning internal chambers and the valve.
[02] Aluminum tarnishing over time (requires maintenance).
[03] Wear and tear of the silicone gasket.
Analysis of Form Generation
Ergonomic Analysis: Why is Moka Express comfortable to use?
[01] Octagonal Shape:
Eight facets are more ergonomic than a circle—they offer a better grip, are easier to twist, and provide greater stability on a stovetop.[02] Handle Shape:
The comfortable tilt angle and Bakelite thermal insulation prevent burns while allowing precise control during pouring.[03] Weight and Balance:
The weight is distributed in such a way that twisting and pouring require minimal effort.
Construction
[01] Upper chamber:
Cast aluminum; handle made of heat-resistant plastic; spout for pouring finished coffee.
[03] Filter funnel:
Aluminum. Perforations for even extraction.

[02] Lower Chamber:
Aluminum; threaded connection to the upper chamber; safety valve for excess pressure relief.
[04] Silicone Gasket:
Ensures hermetic sealing between the chambers.
Brand Approach: What does Bialetti evoke?

[01] Classics: The brand carefully preserves and continues to produce the iconic Moka Express, which was created in 1933 and has remained virtually unchanged since then.[02] Innovations: Expanding its lines—coffee makers and accessories, cappuccinators, proprietary coffee, capsules, and tableware collections for coffee/tea.[03] Collaborations: Regularly releases limited-edition series with well-known brands and pop culture phenomena.
