HSE x ITS: The Alternative Cinema Poster Competition Piter FM (2006)

Piter FM (2006):

Masha is a young woman working for a popular St. Petersburg radio station as a DJ. Maksim is a young man with a degree in architecture who has moved to St. Petersburg from Nizhny Novgorod and who works part-time as a street sweeper. Although Masha and Maksim have never met, they share a common trait: both have a tendency to be clumsy in daily life, always dropping and spilling things. Each is also at a crossroads in their lives. Masha is getting ready to marry her old schoolmate, Kostya, while Maksim has just won an international architecture competition and is preparing to move to Germany for a new job.

Masha accidentally bumps into somebody in a crowd and drops her cell phone while Maksim happens to pick it up. He wants to return it, but each time they try to meet, something happens to waylay their plans. The two keep ending up in the same places, but not knowing what the other looks like, they keep unwittingly passing by each other. In the meantime, Masha begins to realize that she is not in love with Kostya and agreeing to marry him was a rash decision on her part, while Maksim starts to think that he would rather live in St. Petersburg than move to Germa

Your Shadow In St. Petersburg

Even if they tried to meet each other, everytime something will come up. Altough they never met each other before, their traces can be felt along the beatiful roads of St. Petersburg.

In this poster, Masha is wandering the road of St. Petersburg, hoping to get her phone. But Maxim is nowhere to be seen. The only thing that keep her going is the knowledge that Maxim is there.

The voice behind the phone seems familiar, whose gentlemen is it?

Masha smiles as she realize the person she’s talking to is someone she’s been looking for a long, long time. A huge relief draws on her face as she shaw Maxim’s shadow trough the radio.

In this fastly different world of ours, can we found comfort in each other company?

A radio Jockey and the audience, two different sides of a coin, two different point of view to the world. Can they survive the challenge and finally meet one another?

Crowd

In this centipede of people, can I find the one I’m looking for?

Maxim tried his best to return the phone, but they just never met! The shadow of Masha keep getting him alerted by the chance to find her. Even among this crowd of people

Like a passerby we pass one another, like passerby we don’t know each other. Each going their own way, not knowing of the other.
