Nina Lugovskaya: «Someone needs people to know about me.»

The book «Nina Lugovskaya’s Three Lives» is a collaborative work by researchers from Moscow and Vladimir. It provides the first detailed biography of Nina Lugovskaya (1918–1993), known as the «Russian Anne Frank.»

Nina, daughter of the left-wing essayist Sergei Rybin-Lugovsky, was exiled to Kolyma with her family in 1937. After her release, Nina Sergeevna worked as a theatrical artist in Magadan, Sterlitamak, and Kizel. Her full painterly talent unfolded in Vladimir, where she lived and worked with her husband, the artist Vladimir Templin.

The edition features articles about Lugovskaya, excerpts from her diaries, memoirs, archival documents, and a selection of her paintings from museums in the Vladimir region. The book also includes a photo project dedicated to historical sites in Moscow, Kolyma, and Vladimir.
