In my photo and video projects, I function simultaneously as both photographer and art director: I develop the shooting concept, shape the visual identity, select the team and locations, and oversee the work with lighting, styling, and subsequent material processing. I have worked with Russian artists, independent publications, and brands, including «Zolotoe Yabloko,» RAGA MALAK, DETALI, and P. P. S. My personal photographic work has been published in the magazines GLAMCULT, SCHEMA, FAUX, and FLACON. For me, photography is an extension of communication design practice—a way to create a cohesive visual narrative that reveals the character of a subject, product, or brand while maintaining expressiveness across various media.
My photographic language is built upon a combination of external simplicity and internal tension. I am drawn to the aesthetics of raw, almost documentary-style shots that retain serendipity, imperfection, and a sense of living presence. Nevertheless, the composition and interaction with the model are always carefully considered—the pose, the gaze, the gesture, and the space all become part of the overall dramatic structure. To solve a specific aesthetic challenge, I consciously turn to various shooting techniques and tools—from analog cameras to mobile phones. For me, technique is not an end in itself, but a means to achieve the desired texture, degree of immediacy, and emotional state of the frame. In photography, what matters to me is suspense, ambiguity, and a slight sense of unease—a Lynchian feeling where familiar reality gradually becomes strange, ambiguous, and slightly irrational.
