Visual Exploration

Primitivism—this is an art form where simple shapes and imagery convey feelings and ideas without excessive detail. Jean-Jacques Rousseau drew inspiration from naïveté, unconventional subjects, and the simplicity of depiction, crafting his own slightly fairytale world. In my art object, I use a similar approach: rough forms, uneven surfaces, and symbols reminiscent of ancient drawings. My goal was to evoke a feeling of something primal and mysterious, as if this object had survived since long ago.

Concept
The art object is a conceptual ancient structure, reminiscent of a megalithic construction. Rough forms, suspended elements, and primitive symbols evoke the feeling of an archaic artifact that has preserved traces of an unknown culture.
The teardrop shape references water and the history of the Vyborg water tower. The crude forms, conceptual symbols, and stone imitation connect the object to primitivism, conveying the feeling of an ancient ritual structure. Thus, the object merges the history of the place
with primordial imagery.
