TROLL DOLL — A Little Troll of Big Nostalgia…
CONCEPT
A simple animatic, rendered in the style of nostalgic 2D animation (akin to 90s cartoons), tells the story of the Troll Doll—a vibrant toy with wildly colorful hair, a plastic body, and a mischievous grin. The one-minute video chronicles the genesis of the Troll Doll and how it comes to life in the modern world. Style: minimalist, utilizing vivid colors, kinetic hair movement (keyframe animation), and vintage textures.
GOAL
To evoke nostalgia among Millennials and Gen Z, thereby increasing the brand recognition of the Troll Doll in the age of TikTok and Instagram Reels. The video positions the toy as a 90s icon making a return with humor and energy.
OBJECTIVES
Visually convey the essence of the toy: Emphasize its signature traits—the fuzzy «hedgehog,» the smiling face, the small body—through dynamic animation (3–5 key scenes). Create an emotional hook: Connect the 90s to the present day to prompt viewer smiles and shares (the goal is 10k+ views within a week). Optimize for social media: Short format, hair-looping effect, and relevant hashtags
