Metamorphoses of Human and Animal
Creating a clothing collection based on research into images of bodily transformation in mythology, body art, and contemporary sculpture.

At the core of this collection lies a subtle interplay between nature and art. I am engaging with the theme of metamorphosis—a transformation where the human and animal gradually lose their distinct boundaries and merge into a single form. Through clothing, I aim to explore the beauty of this union: the natural and the man-made, instinct and awareness. The initial visual inspiration came from the work of artist Isabel Albuquerque and the imagery of the model Verushka. Albuquerque combines the human figure and the body of a fawn in her sculpture, embodying the idea of a being existing at the boundary of two worlds. Verushka approached similar transformations through body art: she dissolved her silhouette into the natural environment and covered her body with animalistic patterns, making it part of the landscape. These artistic images resonate with ancient myths where deities assumed animal forms, transcending the limitations of the human body.
