Every renowned musician possesses a recognizable persona, which is shaped by their style, character, career, and cultural impact. The project «an icon, disassembled» examines the images of four artists, breaking them down into individual elements. Each object reflects a specific facet of the artist: their style, individuality, associations, and iconic elements of their image. Separated from the person, these objects become fragments that collectively construct a recognizable visual portrait. The project prompts reflection on what makes a musician an icon and how their image can be conveyed without directly depicting the person.
