Yi — PROJECT FOR RECORDING AND RESEARCHING SURROUNDING SCENTS
The goal of Yi is to teach people to pay attention to routine scents. The project allows users not only to notice them but also to contemplate them using text and photography.
Smell as a Skill That Can Be Developed
Scent as a Ritual That Can Be Fixed
APP

This application functions as a digital scent diary, storing records of various aromas.

The application’s value—the development of olfactive experience.
The mechanism involves recording the scents with which the user encounters throughout the day.
The application supports three interface themes: morning, day, and night.
To maintain a digital journal, the user is invited to note the name, description, intensity, and resulting emotions. Additionally, scent can be added to the list, details can be appended, and a photo can be attached.
Records are stored in an internal library that can be viewed in two modes—list and graphical. The data is collected into a personal statistics dashboard, which is displayed in the user’s profile.
POCKET BOOK
The book is a pocket collection of prose excerpts in which scent serves as an independent artistic element.
CAMPAIGN
The project places significant emphasis on photographic style, as imagery is one of the few ways to convey scent in a digital space. Yi’s identity and recognizability are built specifically upon photography.
OBJECTS
Postcards created in collaboration with the noise radio taccet
One type of digital media is mobile wallpapers
