The collection comprises two categories of interior objects: lounge furniture and lighting fixtures.
The inspiration for the Bioshera lighting fixtures, created for im-ocean in 2020, came from the mushrooms Clathrus ruber (red coral fungus) and Phallus duplicatus (doubled net stinkhorn).
A year later, we expanded the Biosphera collection with lounge furniture. These massive, stone-like objects feel warm and cozy upon tactile contact. They provide a visual counterpoint to the airy mushroom lamps while simultaneously serving as their foundation—the Earth, the embodiment of the mycelium habitat.
In this collection (as in many others), we attempt to balance the uniqueness of each piece with the possibilities of mass production and advanced manufacturing.
