In this module, I created a series of posters as part of the theater study for the Oklahoma-Perm exhibit. Couples of theatres from different parts of the world have been selected for study, and the similarities and differences in their performances have been examined.
Act I: Two globes
The first couple of theatres are thousands of miles apart, but they have one name: the Novosibir Academic Youth Theatre «Globus» and the Globe Theatre in London. The theatre in Novosibirsk seeks to go beyond and to be universal, while its London colleague exists in his world, but is trying to create something new within it. The repertoire of theatres has been analysed in the context of the theme of universality and globalization, and the chosen series of performances have spontaneously combined another theme, love. The first episode is about the Lisstrata comedy, and the second play is «Sun on Summer Night.»
«Lisstrata» (Aristofan)
The poster grid for «Lisstrata» is built on a single neutral principle, while the topic of universality is revealed through icons and symbols that reflect the content of the play.

«A Midsummer Night’s Dream» (William Shakespeare)
The posters for «Son on Summer Night» reveal the subject of the fragility and fleetingness of love. The main metaphor was the universally understood image of the flower bouquet, which runs from purchase to loss. The production itself is planned to take place in an improvisation format, so the style of the posters resembles a quick spontaneous street photograph.
Act I.II: Globe + Globe
In addition to the adult poster series for the New Siberian Globe, a children’s episode was also produced, where I decided to look at the theme of the universal repertoire of the theatre in a different way. Plates of steel are literally round and connected to a single volume structure. The main metaphors are excessiveness, polyphony, a mixture of meanings. Each of the three sides of the design is dedicated to a separate play: Three Musketeers, Boys, and Save Lenka! «, and the fourth talks about the theater itself.
Act II: Musical
In the second couple, I took the Sverdlov Music Comedy Theatre and «Starkid Productions», an American theatrical association that deals with musical parodies. In this series, I consider the situation in which theatres visit each other, so the posters are translated into the appropriate languages. There’s a play called «Love and Doves» going on tour from Catherine, and «Starkid Productions» will present their impression on Harry Potter. In addition to the musical component, the theme of the series also became the theme of the home.
«Love and Doves» (Vladimir Gurkin)
Posters for each major character can be performed by both individual hosts and a common poster. This reception symbolizes the complexity of family relations and the image of a house that falls apart if the poster is not assembled.
