Technique, technology, materials: The vessel is manufactured by slip-casting black clay, covered with a thin layer of white slip and decorated in traditional Korean technique «backji», in which a contour is cut on the surface of the vessel with a sharp instrument, then white slip is removed around the pattern. The result is a slightly raised white decor on the black background. After that the vessel is fired for 10 hours, covered with a glaze and then fired for the second time for 12 hours.
