The brand «Khokhloma» and the contemporary art and collectible design gallery «PALATY» from St. Petersburg have presented a joint art project—the panel «Rhythm of Generations.»
At the heart of the project is one of the most recognizable items of this craft: the wooden spoon. 110 spoons symbolize 110 years of the «Khokhloma Painting» factory’s history. Inside each decade, three iconic patterns are featured, reflecting the key artistic milestones of that era. The ornaments were meticulously designed by the factory’s chief artist, Elena Galkina, and hand-applied by the factory’s artists onto removable spoons: when turned over, you can see the pattern corresponding to that period.
«Rhythm of Generations» presents Khokhloma as a living artistic language capable of evolving, engaging in dialogue with contemporary art, while simultaneously preserving its identity.
