The Millenium of Suzdal

In 2024, Susdal will celebrate his 1,000th birthday. The city’s guardian in the Vladimir region is considered to be the gem of the Golden Ring route and is in fact an open-air museum. Suzdal’s sights carry tourists during the ancient Russian era: the white-colored Kremlin walls, the dome of churches, and the size of the county town. The streets of Suzdal are marked by horse rods, and traditional holidays are celebrated with Russian scale and popular color.

In fact, the millennium of Suzdal is a long festival with an extensive programme, and it is an excellent occasion to bring new ideas and projects to the city that will make it more attractive to young people and tourists. Various events, festivals, competitions and exhibitions will be organized as part of the celebration, which will contribute to the development of the city ' s cultural life.

The design idea was based on architectural elements of building facades. Suzdal’s unique architectural «portrait» is based on the unusual history of the city and combines styles from time to time. Floating squirrels are harmonized with bright rubber cashiers, and white graceful walls of monasteries with invoiced slices of burrows. The urban environment is bright, one-to-one, full of detail… images… references. The main task of brand style is to preserve and mark the uniqueness of the city.

Painting letters based on architectural shapes were the main graphic solution. Since I wanted to look at this story from a modern point of view, the elements of the facades of the buildings have been re-thinked and simplified.

It was decided to stop at the black-and-white palette so that the brand style would not interrupt or violate the bright color of the cities and their unique landscapes, but would only supplement them.
