The coffee table «Circles on the water»

The coffee table «Circles on the water», 40 sm height, 60 sm diameter, steel, glass

This is not just a table, but an object filled with meanings, which are easy to read if you know the clues.

The base is made of thin steel sheets, bent radially into semicircles and connected at one point. That is why we see the table in change from different sides.

The glass tabletop lies on a metal ring with protruding stops. When viewed from above, it is noticeable how the metal pattern refers us to the infographics of Karim Rashid, one of the most famous object designers in the world.

This is a hidden tribute to the master and an attempt to embody a complex form by simple means.

The tabletop is made using the molding technique, about 2 cm thick. Incredibly tactile, smooth on one side and with a pronounced relief on the other!

It can be easily turned over and used for its intended purpose on the smooth side or as an art object on the reverse side)

The drawing imprinted on the glass that is pliable when melted and fixes all the «traces» drawn on the base for fusing is an attempt to preserve the fleeting movement of water, the desire to preserve the memory about people who were before us, an attempt to record time.

The lines from the song «Circles on the Water» by the group «Slot» are a kind of epigraph to such a tangible object:

Everything will remain in this Universe, Everything rotates in this Universe, Returns to us, launching circles on the water. Nothing passes without a trace, Nothing passes without a trace!
