An author’s restaurant specializing in Russian cuisine is situated in a 1910 brick building in the historical center of Tyumen. The project merges the building’s historic architecture with a contemporary interpretation of Pavel Bazhov’s folk tales. The Mistress of the Copper Mountain is presented as the guardian of the space, art, and rare natural materials.
CONCEPT
The connection to folklore is revealed through greenstone, copper, dark wood, aged mirror, stone relief, and muted light. Historic brick retains the character of the building, while motifs of grottoes, stone flowers, and lizards are used as delicate accents, not literal decorations.
