«History of Color» is a major project by French historian Michel Pasturo on the history of colour in Western European societies, from ancient Rome to the 18th century. The cycle consists of six books (red, blue, yellow, green, black and white). The focus of the books is on the cultural perception of color, so as a design solution for the cover, the concept of hiding paintings under the valves is chosen, while on the face of the cover are the shades of the color to which the book is dedicated. Each shade is accompanied by a code number and an official name placed next to the chatter. On the back of the valve, you can find a painting in which the master used the appropriate pigment.
