In this project I study the restrained emotions through hand throwing and pit-firing.
Hand-throwing
I start with hand throwing on the pottery wheel. I am imaging that an emotion (anger, fear, resentment) can inflate the human being. Anybody can feel bad emotions, but he is not supposed to show it, thats why the surface of vase stays smooth and calm.
Pit-fire
Vases are put to the fire and stay there for 2-3 hours. I apply soluble salts on the vases that are poisons. After firing salts turns into other safe compounds. I am imaging that the same way poisonous emotion is heating up and burns out leaving traces on the surface and slight sadness.
