A book about how fungi are far more dangerous and cunning than one might imagine. It begins as a story of hunting methods but quickly transports the reader to another world—where fungi intertwine in complex relationships with insects. As the reading progresses, the reader loses control and plunges into the subterranean world of fungal dominion. By the end, they realize they have been captured.

The book is structured like an immersion into a tunnel. Two separate blocks are joined spine-to-spine into one cohesive unit.
The reader opens the book on one side and moves first inward, then outward, following the text from simple to complex. At the end of the first half, they pause, close the book, and turn it over—to open it from the other side, as if a new journey is beginning. The two sides meet in the middle, separated only by a common spine, yet the core meaning remains the same. The book can be read from any end, and each reading will be a unique experience.

Text in a book lives freely. It is not confined to neat columns. On some pages, it is dense—it presses down like an underground stratum. On others, it is sparse, descending in thin columns—like roots reaching deep below, and the reader follows them downward.
Sometimes, the text almost vanishes, leaving only air—a chance to breathe before diving back in.
I designed it so the reader doesn’t just read about being consumed; they experience it. Sparse pages represent the moment before the invasion.
This rhythm allows the reader to surface momentarily before being pulled back down again.
