TOTEM is a bio concept of a burial pot that will have an educational function and training on how to properly say goodbye to an animal without harming the environment. It is known that the most environmentally friendly way to bury a departed pet is to cremate it, but in Russia there are still places for burying many domestic animals. Bio-pot is a technology for planting plants using animal ashes. Ashes and plant seeds are left in a bowl made of gelatin-based bioplastic. Thus, the animal is given a «second life» in the form of plants. In addition to bioplastic, TOTEM pots use slaughterhouse by-products. According to statistics, about 130 billion kg of slaughterhouse bones are produced annually in the world. Such biomaterial is well suited for fertilizing the soil, thus favorably affecting plant growth.
