«The Saga of the Volsungs» is one of the most renowned works of world medieval literature, dating from the 13th century, and recounts events that took place prior to the settlement of Iceland.
The saga was translated by Boris Isaakovich Yarkho (1889–1942) and was first published in 1934 by Academia publishing house. This edition includes notes and a historical commentary by the translator, which aids comprehension of the text, as well as a preface by the scientific editor Alexander Khlevov.
In preparing this edition, I collaborated with Olga Simonova, who provided the illustrations for the work. I was entirely responsible for the layout, typography, and typesetting of the edition, which features numerous comments and notes on the main text.
