Designing a book series on avant-garde artists

Proposal for a book series on avant-garde artists. The series will include a collection of letters and poetic works by artist Varvara Stepanova, «Man Cannot Live Without Wonder, ” and the first Russian-language monograph on Alexei Gan by Alexander Lavrentyev.

Fonts—KTF Rublena (Evgeny Anfalov, Kyiv Type Foundry) for headings, 20 Kopeek (Yuriy Gordon, Letterhead) for the body text.Photographs of Varvara Stepanova’s corner ruler and compass were adapted from issue 5 of the magazine «DA! , ” 1996 (editors Vladimir Krichevsky and Elena Chernevich). The photograph of Rodchenko’s compass, used for painting exercises and modeling spatial structures, was adapted from Alexander Lavrentiev’s book, „Avant-garde Idols. Alexander Rodchenko“ (2011).
