The horses are ceramic interior objects that evoke memories of Russian fairy tales. The simple patterns resemble those found on children’s toys. The bright colors create an atmosphere of joy and festivity. The horses are adorned with patterns and ornaments inspired by traditional folk paintings. All of this brings to mind Russian mythology and symbolism, which our ancestors used for protection against evil forces and to attract good fortune.
The horses are made of chamotte clay, crafted using slab construction. The decoration includes a porcelain coating. The painting is done with engobes, pigments, and underglaze paints on porcelain, with cobalt oxide rubbed in, and finished with a transparent glaze.
