Issue No. 32 of WAM was published in 2008. The volume consisted of 104 pages. This hardbound issue was a collection of poems by the poet, philosopher, and cultural theorist Viktor Agamov-Tupitsyn, titled «Poems for Children, Elders, and People with Disabilities.»
As the author wrote in his preface, «…the collection, whose title rephrases the sign in the Moscow Metro („Places for Children, Seniors, and Disabled Persons“), was written over two years and completed in 1969. The most „childlike“ of the poems included in it were broadcast on the radio, while others—read by familiar actors from the stage, one of whom was Alexander Kaidanovsky—were performed. The author’s emigration in 1975 prevented the collection from being published.»
In the early 1990s, the idea arose to revive the unpublished collection of poems as an art project. Around forty artists agreed to participate. Their illustrations significantly helped complete this prolonged epic.
Among those who illustrated this collection—whose illustrations are featured in this publication—are Yuri Albert, Kharlampiy Oroshakov, Timur Novikov, Sergey Bugayev (Africa), Andrey Roiter, Pavel Pepperstein, Andrey Filippov, Sergey Anufriev, Sergey Mironenko, Irina Nakhova, Andrey Monastyrsky, Vitaly Komar, and Alexander Melamid, Konstantin Zvezdochetov, Ivan Chuikov, Ilya Kabakov, Leonid Sokolov, Oleg Vasiliev, Nikolay Panitkov, Maria Konstantinovna, Maria Serebryakova, Masha Miturich-Khlebnikova, Nikita Alekseev, Maria Konstantinovna, Eduard Gorokhovsky, Evgenia Chuikova, Alexander Dryuchin, Elena Yelagina, Erik Bulatov, Vadim Zakharov, Igor Makarevich, Vladimir Nemukhin, Svetlana Kopystyanskaya, Igor Kopystyansky, Yuri Leiderman, Andrey Molodkin, Boris Mikhailov, as well as Viktor Agamov-Tupitsyn himself.
Time Out Moscow magazine, in its review of Viktor Agamov-Tupitsyn’s collection, called the illustrations «conceptual riddles, childlike naive pictures, virtuosic, primitivist, and mostly just wonderful.» The review also noted that artists of various calibers participated in the project—ranging from the great to the amusing.
The edition includes an author’s afterword, as well as an index of the artists' names and the titles of the poems they illustrated.
