In working with clay I use hand techniques, which gives originality and special character to the object. The union of traditional material and non-traditional imagery challenges standards. Playing with shapes and textures allows me to blur the boundaries between the sculptural and the functional. The main expressive means are non-standard forms, asymmetry, accent reliefs, tactile identification of the surface. My entire practice is aimed at undermining cliched images. Object is created as something that doesn’t yet have an established image, offering a new way of looking at familiar things, defying our rational knowledge.
