This coffee table is a part of the Pixel capsule collection. The collection was inspired by one of the iconic postmodernist projects by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill — La Muralla Roja residential complex. When creating the collection, much attention was paid to bright colors and unusual geometry of the complex.
The design of the coffee table focuses not only on the pixelated shape, but also on the materials and the color palette. The object is made of epoxy resin, a complex but interesting material. Resin products have the peculiarity of adjusting in color to light and space, thus playing with our perception. The main task in creating the object was to combine an atypical material for the industry with a simple form of the object, to emphasize the material and as a result to achieve an unusual visual effect.
