The art collective PPSS (Pavel Pepperstein, Sonya Stereostyrsky) and the HSE Art and Design School present a two-part exhibition by the group—a kind of retrospective covering their five years of activity since the group’s founding on August 17, 2020, through the present day.
The first part of the project will take place at the gallery branch on Pionerskaya until March 25th and will feature a classic report exhibition. The second part, at the Vinzavod CSCI, develops this line, offering an immersion into the artistic world of the HSE Art and Design School, where carnival aesthetics, conceptual ideas, and engagement with cultural archetypes create a unique perspective on contemporary life.

Часть работ на выставке посвящена осмыслению преемственности группы с московским концептуализмом —
First and foremost, through the practice of Andrey Monastyrsky and the group «Medical Hermeneutics Inspection, ” one of the founders of which is Pavel Pepperstein. The PPSS forms its own strategy. While Moscow Conceptualism was built on a failure within strict bureaucratic aesthetics, for the PPSS, this arrhythmia transforms into a rhythm—a musical, performative, mass rhythm—as the artists themselves call it, „carnivalesque conceptualism.“
