Brooch «Mom, everything is under control!»

«Mom, everything is under control!» Evgeny Danilov I started working on the brooch during the first lockdown. The world has changed, our lives have changed. And I tried to convey this feeling in the design. The monkey’s face seemed to imprint the expression with which we all looked at the news of each day. But despite all the discouragement, the face is not devoid of positivity. Because if you do not treat everything with a healthy dose of irony, you can go crazy. On the one hand, this is a topical jewelry art object that is designed to make people smile. On the other hand, it is a technological and painstaking jewelry work. All the works are made by me by hand. The product is not ordinary, but with a secret. There are two buttons on the brooch. If you press the first one, a tiny coronavirus symbol appears from the hat. The second button, with a special mechanism on a titanium spring, throws out a tongue, encrusted with topazes and … On the back of the brooch is a monkey’s skull, made using the flat drawing technique. Through it you can see how the springs and mechanisms that extend the hidden elements work.
