п-44 & хюгге
I was born in Degunino, grew up in Otradnoye, and continue to live in an apartment furnished with furniture from the GDR, Poland, and the Baltic States. From my window, for 40 years I have seen the P-44 building, and behind me is a cabinet of dark walnut color. Not the best furniture, not the best P-44 floor plan—they align in style, time, and quality. All I have left to do is reunite them. Both of these objects are simulations of normal life: the walnut-printed furniture conceals pine, spruce, and birch shavings, and the compact concrete apartment becomes a home.

During the process of reflection and attempting to project the house across the way onto the cabinet panel, visual artifacts resembling birch growths emerged. I aimed for a maximally dry, documentary rendering of the image—much like a camera obscura projecting a sixteen-story building onto a vertical surface.
