I recently became obsessed with collecting DVDs. I arranged with two sellers on Avito to purchase several discs that interested me, and these very arrangements became the foundation for the conditions under which both photographic series were created—conditions of optional, languid wandering while awaiting the seller or on the way to them.
First Episode
As the first seller, I arranged to meet on Palace Square, but I arrived three hours early with a dead phone—all so that I wouldn’t have to do anything else, like going to the Hermitage to kill time.
Second Episode
The second seller lived in Prosveshcheniye Settlement, only a two-hour walk from Petergof. Upon agreeing to pick it up myself, I felt a completely different state of wandering—my small journey still had a final destination, yet the path itself remained equally optional.
