Project concept:
In this work, the material from which it is made is very important. Soft form of paralon, referring to bodily integrity. Ridiculous edges aren’t perfect and chaotic. On the contrary, the impeccable shape of the steel ball shows accuracy, consistency and order. It represents a cold calculation of time and its consequences. Time does not ask us whether we want its inevitable and greedy absorption, nor does the ball carry out its function smoothly and technically with precision. She’s diving into the paralon over and over again. At the moment, we have an opportunity to see for a second the moment the moment that just happened. The work of «Side» provides an opportunity to reflect on how elusive the moment of the past is to be transformed into the present. And how certain the laws of time and entropy are against our desire to keep them or slow them down.
The object shows automaticity, inanimate systems. It’s an expression of the ruthless course of life. The shape of the paralon reflects the beauty of the chaos of human emotions. That’s what makes us alive. So there’s a mirror ball in contrast to the ripped shape. With a smooth texture, with an exact timer and a calculated motion.
