A model car (scale model of an automobile) is a miniature replica of a real vehicle, created in a specific scale. The scale of the model is the ratio of the model’s size to the size of the actual car. For example, a classic scale of 1:43 means the original is 43 times larger than the model. Models typically reproduce not only the exterior appearance of the cars but also a high level of interior detail (except in very small scales). Some models include moving parts—such as opening doors, hoods, trunks, etc.
