Box for the index fest

The Plate for the INDEX FEST Music Festival is built as a fragmented glass structure, where the font «Golos» is placed into narrow vertical «klavic» segments. This is an image of academic diversity, whose understanding comes not from uniformity, but from a variety of rigidly constructed but diverse modules.

Each segment looks like a glass column, as if the sound went through an optical lens and divided into variations. This shows that academic music is not a monolith, but a system of micromoves, shifts, and shades. Glass becomes sound material.

The glass always seems solid, but a light blow is enough — and it’s falling apart. And so is academic music: it’s obviously hard and it’s checked out, but it’s emotionally fragile, multilayered, almost meditative. The image of the piano goes unmistakably like a memory or a lost track, turning the music of Martynov and Greenenko into a visual wave frozen in transparent matter.
